Le Grand Buisson, St Clement Rancoudray, Normandy, France
Welcome to our website ...
Renovated in 2008 and available to rent from March 2009, this delightfully spacious 250-year-old detached farmhouse has been tastefully renovated to a very high standard; retaining many original features such as oak beams, granite fireplace and original doors and is part of an ancient ‘corps de ferme’ surrounded by the original barns. Le Grand Buisson offers a relaxing and stress free holiday home in a tranquil country setting.
Set in 24 acres of farmland, Le Grand Buisson is home to approximately 40 cows. The property is located close to the small hamlet of St Clement Rancoudray which has a small store and boulangerie and approx 7 km away is the larger market town of Mortain which has larger supermarkets, restaurants and an outdoor swimming pool. The house is within easy reach of the popular ferry routes to Normandy and the Normandy beaches.
Nearby it is possible to find nature walks, cycling tracks, fishing, golf and horse riding. An 18ft 'above ground' pool is available in the summer months of May to September.
Le Grand Buisson is a very comfortable farmhouse property, appointed to be equally enjoyable in the summer or the winter. In the summer we have an above ground pool for cooling off, splashing around in or enjoying a game of pool volleyball. We have sun loungers with padded covers, perfect for lazing around reading a book. We have several outdoor areas and a portable BBQ for enjoying meals alfresco. If the nights are hot you can wind down the vented shutters and throw open the windows for a cooling breeze (without the bugs). In the winter Le Grand Buisson is exceptionally warm due to the state of the art oiled fired central heating. You can relax and unwind in lovely hot high pressure showers or take a deep and lazy warm bath. The massive log burning stove in the lounge will keep your toes warm whilst you snuggle under a comfortable throw watching one of the 200 movies in the DVD library. Crisp country walks, Christmas markets and villages strewn with magical fairy lights all make Normandy a wonderful and uncommercialised festive winter holiday location.
Whether you prefer a relaxing holiday or wish to engage in more energetic pursuits, Le Grand Buisson is ideally placed to explore all that Normandy has to offer.
